On Saturday 15th November the Yorkshire Federation held its 97th Annual General Meeting.
As regular readers will be aware we move our A G M around the region and this year we went to Scarborough, a resort town on the east coast. Unfortunately the day dawned, or did not, to a thick blanket of fog. As some members had upward of a hundred miles to travel we were not surprised to find our usual good turnout somewhat reduced., some thirty brave souls made it and the meeting was opened by the Mayor of the Borough of Scarborough Cllr. Pat Marsburg and the Mayoress Cllr. Hilary Groves, who stayed with us until lunch time when they had to leave to attend another function.
After lunch the meeting re-convened under the Chairmanship of Mr Phil Gomersall and the usual business of accounts, election of officers etc. was carried out. The Yorkshire Cup was presented to Mr. Alwyn Dean of Rotherham for his work with his local society but also as one of those responsible for the re-formation of the Rotherham District Federation.
As all business was completed the meeting was closed at 3.00 PM to allow members to set off home, still not an enviable prospect.
Our thanks to all those who succeeded in joining us.
