To celebrate Harvest Festival (8th September 2014) and the importance of growing your own, chef Tim Bilton of The Spiced Pear, Hepworth has teamed up with The National Allotment Society to hold an official Allotment Week party!
The National Allotment Society is encouraging allotmenteers across the UK to get together and hold parties on their plots this year.
Tim is asking allotmenteers from the 100 local sites in Kirklees to donate their delicious homegrown produce to a special feast which he will cook up for gardeners and locals on Monday the 8th of September at his restaurant in Hepworth.
Whether it be runner beans, radishes or roses, any homegrown goodness will be gratefully received.
Tim’s grow-your-own ethos was inspired by his training under Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons. Since opening The Spiced Pear a year ago, getting his own smallholding up and running has been top of the agenda.
